Hootan Farrokhi has joined Pride of Persia as our Showroom Manager. A graduate of the Cavendish College of England, College of Architecture in Tehran, Hootan brings a decade of residential and commercial design experience to this new position. What's his favorite genre of rugs? "Contemporary!"

ANTIQUE CENTER OF TEXAS
For 15 years, Pride of Persia has had a showroom at Carolyn Thompson's Antique Center of Texas. As a result of TXDoT's 290/I-10 highway project, the entire center is relocating to Northwest Mall. This place is huge! Look for our new showroom in the former JC Penney anchor building this fall at 9500 Hempstead Rd., Houston, TX 77092.

RUG CLASS
At Pride of Persia, our emphasis is on education. We offer an eight-week class, "The World of Persian Rugs," through Rice University's Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies. The next class begins on Wednesday, September 14, 2011.

Our contemporary rug collection just keeps getting bigger and better! We had to add a new section under "Products" to showcase them. Many more Lapchi Hand-Woven Carpets in Silk and Wool have arrived, including the Urban Home Outlet collection. We now offer a wide range of gorgeous Tibetan-style rugs from Nepal. These fabulous custom creations join our exquisite rugs from Hadji Jalili Revivals along with our Heritage rugs and Persian Loribaft Gebbehs as among the most desirable newer pieces available today. We have also received the remaining inventory of Woven Arts, Inc., which includes many palace size rugs. CONGRATULATIONS!
Many of you continue to ask about Puya Alikhani, who worked for Pride of Persia from 1999 until 2006 while attending college. Puya graduated with honors from Texas A&M College of Medicine and is now a resident in neurological surgery at Tampa General Hospital. His wife, Dr. Narges Khalili, is also at Tampa General as a neurology resident. We are so proud of Puya and Narges!
